The Amsterdam Gospel FireChoir is a black-gospel community choir of over 100 members coming together from various cities, nations, cultures and walks of life. WHO
can join FireChoir?
Anyone can join regardless of beliefs, ethnicity or musical experience.
Ages 15 and up (younger ages considered on an individual basis).
No previous choir experience or ability to read music necessary.
We audition only for voice placement and to confirm each new member can sing on pitch.
Guests are welcome to visit a rehearsal before committing to join.

19:30-21:30 every Thursday for 14 weeks
We have two rehearsal seasons per year: Spring and Fall
At the end of each season, FireChoir performs a short series of concerts on stages in the Netherlands and sometimes abroad.

does FireChoir meet?
FireChoir meets in the Keerpunt building, located in the Buitenveldert area of Amsterdam.
It is within walking distance from the metro, bus and train; plus there is plenty of free parking available.

FireChoir Celebrates
10 Year Anniversary
On 8 June 2018, FireChoir celebrated its 10 year anniversary with their "Oh Happy Day" concert at the Zaantheater. FireChoir was founded in 2008 By Doug and Jackee Raught. They moved to the Netherlands and started this American-style black gospel choir with 35 people. Doug was the main director of the choir until the spring of 2020, when the Raughts moved back to America. Today FireChoir enjoys the distinction of being one of Netherlands largest full-time black gospel choirs with over 100 people. FireChoir is now directed by Bob Brussel, who has been a co-director for the choir for many years, with help from assistent directors from the choir.
